Warehouse Team Leader
The Opportunity
Our client is in need of an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who has a passion for exceptional customer service to supervise and coach their Distribution team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining a smooth workflow by analyzing operations, improving processes and training personnel.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices, incredible customer service and safety conscious behavior.
- Complete building opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Schedule staff and allocate resources to meet objectives of Distribution Center.
- Responsible for hiring, training and development of team members.
- Supervise staff and continuously monitor performance and activities.
- Look for improvement opportunities to reduce expense and increase efficiency.
- Communicate changes in procedures to Distribution team and other departments.
- Support picking, checking and packing process, as well as stocking, loading and unloading merchandise. Audit response times.
- Point of Contact for Cut-to-Order Plastic Lens replacements.
- Perform and monitor cycle counts to verify inventory levels.
- Assign product locations based upon the pick frequency, shipping history, physical properties and stocking levels.
- Provide backup to the Counter Sales team.
- Perform and monitor general maintenance of the warehouse and the building exterior.
- Coordinate deliveries with carriers.
- Perform quality assurance audit on products with defective returns.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA procedures and Health & Safety work practices.
- Maintain and analyze scorecard statistics.
- Stand in for the Manager during holidays or illness as required.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires strong communication and leadership skills.
- PC proficient with the ability to work with computerized inventories and MS Office software.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced atmosphere.
- Exhibit skills and attitude that demonstrate commitment to company policies, principles and processes.
- Must have the ability to sit, walk, reach and lift products weighing up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis, and work in hot and cold warehouse conditions doing repetitive motion for long periods of time.
